One Direction have been confirmed to play live on X Factor USA.

The British group will make the familiar trip to America once again to perform on the results show on Thursday (November 8).

They will play their two latest singles - 'Live While We're Young' and 'Little Things'.

In a statement, Niall Horan said the quintet are looking forward to performing in front of X Factor UK mentor Simon Cowell for the first time since they were on the British show back in 2010. He said:

"We're really excited to be on the American X Factor. It'll be the first time we've performed in front of 'Uncle Si' since we were on the UK X Factor. So, hopefully, we'll make him proud!"

Zayn Malik meanwhile added: "Having come from the UK X Factor, we can't wait to perform on the U.S. stage ­– it's going to be a great night!"
