One Direction head for their second million-selling album in the USA

UK based boyband One Direction are close to securing their second million-copy selling album in the U.S., Nielsen SoundScan has confirmed.

The lads have shifted over 800,000 copies of their new offering, entitled 'Take Me Home', in the States after just three weeks and they are well on their way to hitting the million mark.

It sold another 92,000 copies in the past 7 days alone and the heartthrobs achieved yet another career milestone on December 3 when they performed to a sold-out crowd at New York's famous Madison Square Garden.

Meanwhile, 'Take Me Home' charted at No.3 in the UK during Wednesday's (December 5) midweek update and is expected to remain in the Top 5 as the positions are confirmed this coming Sunday.

To commemorate their Madison Square Garden show, member Zayn Malik got a celebratory tattoo as a reminder of the fantastic moment.
