Harry Styles sent his fans into meltdown on Twitter last night (August 11) after he twerked for the cameras at the Teen Choice Awards.

The singer appeared at the glitzy ceremony as One Direction picked up four awards on the night.

Whilst Styles also individually won two awards - Choice Male Hottie and Choice Smile - it was a short dancing cameo that grabbed the attention.

The Brit was asked by presenters Darren Criss and Lucy Hale when sat in the audience if he would twerk - a dance move that involves gyrating hips.

He eventually succumbed and performed the move for a few seconds before sitting down again.

It soon trended on Twitter, but he tweeted after the show: "Note to self. Don't 'twerk'."

Ed Sheeran, who was sat next to Styles at the ceremony, meanwhile said on Twitter: "One more note, people need to stop encouraging little kids to twerk, it's odd."
