Louis Tomlinson pulls out of Doncaster football game due to injury

One Direction's Louis Tomlinson will not feature in an upcoming Doncaster Rovers Reserves football game because of injury.

As previously reported, the singer was due to play for the second-string side against Scunthorpe United Reserves at Doncaster's Keepmoat Stadium on Wednesday (September 18) to raise money for charity.

However, Tomlinson was injured recently during another charity game in Glasgow and it seems the problem will keep him out of the match. He tweeted today (September 16):

"Unfortunately due to injury I cannot play at this week’s Doncaster Rovers match. I will still be attending the match on the bench. I will play in another game in 2014, to be announced. Fans that have bought tickets for the match can apply for a full refund."

Tomlinson added: "Alternatively they can still attend the match and buy a ticket for the rescheduled game at a reduced price of £3 :) Fans who do not wish to attend may also keep their ticket and exchange it for the rescheduled match, again for a reduced price of £3. I'm really sorry I can't play I'm gutted."

The One Direction man meanwhile signed a non-contract deal with Doncaster Rovers earlier this year in an effort to raise money for a local childrens' hospice.
