One Direction have confirmed the release date of their forthcoming DVD and Blu-ray This Is Us.

The lads originally released the documentary style movie earlier this year and it hit No.1 in box offices in the UK and the US.

The flick, which charts the five singers' rise to fame as well as including concert footage, will be released on December 19 on DVD and Blu-ray.

The film's Twitter account says the home release is the "Ultimate Fan Ed w/ Theatrical & Ext cuts".

As previously reported, Niall Horan recently said that he would be ecstatic if This Is Us - which was directed by Morgan Spurlock - managed to land an Oscar nomination.

He said: "The Oscars are nuts but we are so proud of the film and it would be ­unbelievable to just get nominated. Any award voted for by a panel or fans is an honour. But to have an Oscar stacked up against the BRITs would be great.”

One Direction meanwhile are still in Australia on their Take Me Home tour, with their next date planned for Sydney on October 23.
