Pharrell Williams to bag first UK No.1 album

Pharrell Williams is on course to gain his first UK No.1 album this weekend.

The US superstar unleashed his latest solo record 'G I R L' on Monday (March 3) and the Official Charts Company have confirmed in their midweek update today (March 5) that it is No.1.

However, it is outselling the current top five combined, meaning that it is extremely likely to stay at No.1 come Sunday (March 9).

At No.2 on the midweek update is Ellie Goulding's 'Halcyon', whilst last week's No.1 - Bastille's 'Bad Blood' - is No.3.

No.4 goes to Arctic Monkeys' 'AM' - boosted by recent BRITs success - and No.5 is Beyoncé's self-titled effort.

Rick Ross's new effort 'Mastermind' meanwhile is a new entry at No.6.
