Pharrell Williams defends 'Blurred Lines' video

Pharrell Williams has denied suggestion that Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines' video objectifies women.

The US hip-hop man teamed up with the suave singer and rapper T.I. for the 2013 track, which has gone on to become a massive hit.

The song was released alongside two videos, with one an unrated version that sees three women strut around topless.

It has come under fire for apparently objectifying females - but speaking to Rolling Stone, Pharrell said that the video is actually celebrating womens' bodies. He stated:

"We were trying to make a moving version of a page in Vogue, where you might see a woman's breast. The body isn't meant to be objectified.

"I know the video has caused some controversy, but my admiration for women supercedes anything I could ever say. We all come through the conduit of the bodies of beautiful women."
