Isle of Wight boss says he booked Queen after watching them on TVIsle of Wight promoter John Giddings says he booked Queen and Adam Lambert to headline the festival after watching them perform on TV. The group are due to play at the iconic outdoor event this weekend. Speaking to Absolute Radio, Giddings said he was impressed by the band after seeing them play a New Year's Eve show for the BBC at the end of 2014. He said: "With Adam Lambert, he's one of the few people in the world that can hit those high notes that Freddie did, and he pays tribute to him. "One of the reasons why I booked them, was because I saw them last New Year's eve on television and I thought how good they still are, I know what it's going to be like when I see 50,000 people singing along."
