Arctic Monkeys play surprise gig at Radio One Big Weekend

Fans in Carlisle for the BBC Radio One Big Weekend festival were treated today with a surprise set from Sheffield stars Arctic Monkeys.

The band showed up on stage at 1pm (GMT) today (May 14) and played a 12 song set that lasted for 45 minutes. The set featured two songs off the band’s new album ‘Suck It And See’, including the latest single ‘Don’t Sit Down ‘Cause I’ve Moved Your Chair’.

The rest of the set featured a breadth of the band’s back catalogue and finished with ‘When The Sun Goes Down’. Frontman Alex Turner then announced: "Thank you Carlisle. We're going to get out of your hair now."
