Blink 182 cancel full UK tour

Blink 182 have just issued a statement that explains they have cancelled their forthcoming UK and Ireland tour that was due to begin on Friday, July 1 at Birmingham's National Indoor Arena.

The band have cited the slow progress of their new album as the reason for cancelling and have rescheduled all of the dates so that fans will be able to see them almost exactly one year later, in 2012.

A statement on the 'Feeling This' rockers' website reads:

"It is with heavy hearts that we have to announce our planned 2011 European Summer tour has been rescheduled.  When we booked the tour last year, we were confident that we would have the new album out before the Summer. Turns out we were mistaken"

They continued:

"Apologies to all of our fans who have bought tickets and were looking forward to the Summer shows but we'll be back soon with the rescheduled dates in Summer 2012, have a new album out and be able to play new songs for you all. Thanks for all of the continued support and understanding."

In addition to pulling all of the arena dates, Blink 182 have also cancelled their appearances at this year's T in the Park and Oxegen festivals. You can head over to the band's official website to read the press release in full and the list of rescheduled shows is below:
