Bruno Mars on new video: 'There's a beauty in the old-looking footage that makes it romantic'

Singer-songwriter Bruno Mars has explained his decision to incorporate an "old style" into his brand new music video for single 'Locked Out Of Heaven'.

He unveiled the cut late last night (October 15) via the internet as he revealed that giving the footage to the fans in a more casual way then announcing a grand TV premiere was more important to him, and it simply shows Mars singing the track to a girl with an older VHS-type effect on the screen.

Speaking to MTV News about the way in which the video was shot, he admitted: "The concept is just old-fashioned fun. No storyline, it's not me singing to a girl, you [just] get a good sense of what you're going to get live."

"It's very VHS-y. I love that man. It takes me back to my childhood, when the tracking is off and the colour is off, there's a beauty in that."

His forthcoming new album, entitled 'Unorthodox Jukebox', is due to be released on December 11.
