Coldplay raise almost £240,000 from charity gigs

Coldplay’s two UK charity gigs raised nearly £240,000 after tickets for the intimate events sold out in just 8 minutes.

The Chief Executive of Crisis, Leslie Morphy, said:

"The incredible £238,645 raised by Coldplay fans will help us to support the thousands of hidden homeless people, who are all too often forgotten, especially at Christmas which can be a particularly lonely and isolating time.”

Both shows took place on December 19 and 20, and the Daily Star reported that front man Chris Martin took time out to have pizza with the homeless choir that supported the band after the second and final gig.
