Coldplay penned track for Beyoncé but her team rejected it

Coldplay may have a collaboration with Bajan superstar Rihanna under their belts, but they were refused the chance to work with Beyoncé because she didn't like the track given to her. 

In a new interview with Maxim, the band's frontman Chris Martin explained that Beyoncé's A&R team rejected a song he had written for her so he penned 'Princess of China' for Rihanna instead and luckily it got picked up:

"Well, I did write a song for Beyoncé, but it got rejected by her A&R people. And the one I wrote for Rihanna didn't get rejected."
