Dappy's 'No Regrets' earns a midweek No.1

Dappy has entered the UK midweek singles chart update at No.1 today (September 21) with his debut solo offering, 'No Regrets'.

The singer, who is also a member of N-Dubz, couldn't contain his excitement at the great news and tweeted a message of thanks to his fans this afternoon:

"Ive Truly Got the Most Dedicated Fans I Know. Without You Guys I Wouldn't Be at Number1 Right now, and For that I'm forever Grateful..NaNa x"

The Official Charts Company has predicted that Dappy is likely to maintain his position when the places are confirmed on Sunday, September 25, and if he scores a No.1 with 'No Regrets' there will be another reason to celebrate, too:

"This will also mark the 11th British act in a row to claim the Number One spot in an impressive run of form for British music."

Last week's chart toppers, One Direction, have been knocked down to No.2 with 'What Makes You Beautiful' and there are 2 other new entries in the Top 5 this week from Jason Derulo's 'It Girl' at No.4 and James Morrison's 'I Won't Let You Go' at No.5.

Girls Aloud's latest solo star, Nicola Roberts, has also made an appearance at No.28 with 'Lucky Day'.
