Glee's creator Ryan Murphy has given fans of the show an early Christmas present by confirming that Chord Overstreet will in fact return. 

It was announced back in July that Overstreet, who plays ladies' favourite Sam Evans on the hit musical series, wouldn't come back for season three as a regular cast member but Murphy has now decided to write him back in as a full time character. He told US Weekly in an official statement:

"We love Chord and have always said that we wanted him back."

"So here's an early Christmas present for all the Gleeks - Sam is coming back to McKinley, and just in time for sectionals!"
