JLS on upcoming Robbie Williams chart battle: 'We've beaten him before and history repeats itself'

Boyband JLS have spoken out about their upcoming chart battle against Robbie Williams and joked that their album is more likely to get to No.1 as they've beaten him in the race for the top spot before.

The lads will release their new record, 'Evolution' on November 5 and it coincides with Williams' release date for his new cut, 'Take The Crown'.

During an interview with Real Radio North East, they explained that they faced the superstar a few years ago when they brought out their debut album but managed to beat him by 1% in sales:

"Round two of us and Robbie. It's always love, we love Robbie to bits, but it's a bit mad again. Does that ever happen normally? In a matter of years?"

Oritse Williams added: "They do say history repeats itself, and we did win the first."

JLS member JB Gill also admitted that if the 'Angels' hitmaker manages to score the coveted chart position there will be no bad blood as they respect each other: "If he happens to beat us to the top spot we'll call him and congratulate him, it's all love."
