Lady Gaga will deliver a speech at this year's SXSW Festival in addition to performing.

The singer recently announced plans to play at the Stubb's Stage on March 13 at the Austin, Texas shindig.

The festival have now confirmed that Gaga will also follow in the footsteps of the likes of Lou Reed and Bruce Springsteen by becoming the keynote speaker for the SXSW Music Conference.

The event will take place on March 14 at 11am local time in the Grand Ballroom of the downtown Austin Hilton hotel.

The SXSW website adds: "The keynote conversation will be led by John Norris of Fuse and is open to those with SXSW Platinum and Music registrations or Artist Wristbands."

Last year's keynote speech was delivered by Dave Grohl.
