Lady Gaga reveals what 'ARTPOP' is inspired by: 'I'm tearing up my rulebook'
Songstress Lady Gaga has opened up about what inspired her to create her forthcoming new album, 'ARTPOP'.
Her online presence was strong last night (August 22) while she was working on new music and she took time to reply to several fans who asked public questions about her new body of work.
One Little Monster sent a tweet that questioned the source of her influence for 'ARTPOP', to which Gaga wrote an explanation that focused on the perceptions and "possibilities" of the pop genre: "It's inspired by completely free thinking state about the possibilities of pop. tearing up my rulebook and going forward."
When asked if she could liken her new material to any previous songs, she simply admitted that she "can't".
She will perform the next date of her Born This Way Ball tour later today (August 23) in Latvia at the Riga Mezaparks arena before travelling to Estonia, Finland, and then Sweden.
