Lily Allen has revealed that customs officials in the US asked if she was the "next Ellie Goulding".

The 'Sheezus' was recently in the States but it seems customs in New York wasn't quite sure who she was.

Allen said on Twitter today (May 7): "Can we just talk about US immigration in NY, when asked my profession I said 'musician' he said 'are you gonna be the next Ellie Goulding'."

Ellie Goulding later retweeted a photo sent by a fan that sees the 'Burn' star shrugging her shoulders.

One of the events Allen attended during her trip to the US was the Met Ball Gala in New York, where she met the inspiration behind her new album title, Kanye West.
