Lily Allen says she will no longer be providing score for Bridget Jones musical

Lily Allen has revealed that she will no longer be writing the score for a Bridget Jones musical.

The singer had been lined up to contribute music for an upcoming stage production of the popular books.

However, she told The Sun that writer Helen Fielding is rejigging the show and as a result, her work is no longer needed.

Allen said: "I wrote some great music for it but Helen Fielding wants to go back and write a whole new story. It's been a long-term project and I was happy to do my bit but I'm now out of the picture."

The singer, however, added that some other companies are interested in her work:

"I've had two companies come to me and say, 'Have you got ideas?'. They want me to find a movie that I think I could adapt well and I do have some ideas that I think would work. So my work may make it to the West End yet."
