Ke$ha's mother: 'She doesn’t want to be forced to make stupid pop music'

Earlier this month is was confirmed that songstress Ke$ha had been admitted to a rehabilitation centre to deal with an eating disorder and her mother, Pebe Sebert, had now revealed that she's tired of being seen as a pop act.

During a new interview, Pebe opened up about Ke$ha's opinion on the music she has been recording and releasing over the past few years, and confessed that she's had enough of being forced to make "stupid" records:

"She writes amazing, beautiful ballads as good as Bob Dylan… deep, meaningful songs, and they never see the light of day. She doesn’t want to be forced to make stupid pop music. Who knows, maybe she’ll do bluegrass. Whatever she wants to do! She should have the right to choose. The people she’s working with don’t even want her opinion."

Referring to the 'Die Young' star's stay in the treatment centre, Pebe added that she will remain there for as long as it takes to learn how to deal with the struggles she has been facing:

"If she needs to stay longer than 30 days, she will. She’s trying to get her career back. She wants to do the music she cares about… the music she wants to do. 'Tik Tok' was really her. But she was like 20 and now she’s almost 27 and over it."
