Morrissey has tapped up Sir Tom Jones and Sir Cliff Richard to support him at two massive US shows.

The Smiths singer will headline the Los Angeles Sports Arena on May 10 before performing at Brooklyn's Barclays Center on June 21.

Jones will provide support on the former date whilst Richard will perform at the latter. Kristeen Young will also play both dates.

The shows are the first gigs announced by Morrissey in some time after the Brit cancelled a series of dates last year due to illness and "lack of funding".

The singer meanwhile will release a new album later this year after signing a deal with Harvest Records.

It will come off the back of his successful debut autiobiography, which broke sales records when it was published last year.
