Passenger has announced plans to release a new album this summer.

The singer-songwriter is due to unleash the record 'Whispers' on June 10.

The album was recorded in Sydney with producer Chris Vallejo and it will be Passenger's fifth solo studio effort.

Speaking about the record in a statement, the singer-songwriter said: “It’s quite cinematic. There are lots of big stories and big ideas. There are also some somber moments about loneliness and death but, hey, it wouldn’t be a Passenger album without those. Mostly though, it’s a really positive album.”

The news comes off the back of his successful support slot with Ed Sheeran at London's Royal Albert Hall on Monday (March 24).
