'Fault In Our Stars' writer praises Ed Sheeran's soundtrack offering: 'It means so much'

Author John Green, who wrote 'The Fault In Our Stars', has revealed that he really loves the song Ed Sheeran wrote for the movie adaptation's soundtrack and praised the singer-songwriter's talent.

Speaking at a YouTube live stream about the film's upcoming release, Green explained that 'All Of The Stars' is a fantastic song and he's honoured that Sheeran would share it with him to use for the project:

“The only band I listen to is the Mountain Goats. The last time I heard new music was like, 1996. I’m a very old person. Now I own Ed Sheeran albums, he's amazing. [That he] would share his talent with this story means so much to me. I'm so excited about that.”

Sheeran then added that writing the song was great because it's about human experience and he feels that it's very relatable: "I’m not writing about dwarves or dragons or dungeons [this time]. [It's] a tiny bit more relatable, a bit more human. A little bit easier to write."

“It was kind of inspired by the whole movie, just wanting to be sad, yet euphoric and lift people a little bit, which I hope it does. I hope it doesn’t depress people too much.”
