One Direction fan creates social media campaign to get the boyband to help him propose

A man named Jon (pictured left) has enlisted the help of Directioners across the globe to get the 'Little Things' superstars' attention as he would like them to be involved in his proposal to girlfriend Alex.

He created the hashtag '#1DProposal' and is asking the boyband's dedicated fanbase to use it as much as possible because he wants to ask Alex to marry him at the group's forthcoming concert in Washington D.C. on August 11.

On his specially created website, he explains the story of his relationship so far and what he wants to happen at One DIrection's show: "My name is Jon, and I’m the luckiest guy on the planet. Why, you ask?  It’s pretty simple actually. I’ve found the other half of me, and her name is Alex. I won’t go into the details of how we met, fell in love, are the cutest couple in the world, and all that… but I’ll simply say that I’ve found the one with whom I want to write the story of my life. See what I did there!?"

"Alex deserves nothing but the very best, and now that I’m ready to POP THE QUESTION, I want to make the event so unbelievably special, that my proposal goes down in the history books. How do I do that? I don’t know… specifically. We live in Washington, D.C., and I have tickets to the upcoming concert on August 11th. Sounds like a great date to pick up a fiancée, right!? Alex is a huge fan of yours, and coincidentally, Story of My Life was playing on the radio the first time we exchanged the L-word. So I can’t think of a better way for the two of us to begin our journey than with your help."

So now, Jon wants fans of the heartthrobs to use the aforementioned hashtag on their Twitter posts in hope that the boys might see it and step in to help with his exciting plan.
