Prince joins Nile Rodgers on stage to play David Bowie cover

Prince performed with Nile Rodgers at the weekend.

The US icon hit the stage with the Chic man at the Essence Music Festival on Friday (July 4) in New Orleans.

The duo ran through David Bowie's 1983 'Let's Dance', which features on the Rodgers produced album of the same name.

The guitarist said online after the show: "How Proud Am I at This Moment? Playing 'Let's Dance' w Prince is so symbolic. That album w Bowie changed my life after Disco Sucks."

Rodgers meanwhile recently premiered a new lyric video.

The legendary guitarist is releasing the song 'Do What You Wanna Do' on August 10.

The track was auctioned off to Cr2 Records to raise money for Rodgers' We Are Family Foundation.
