Fleetwood Mac have announced plans to tour the UK next year.

The iconic group will team up with Christine McVie after an absence of 16 years for a batch of dates in May and June.

The UK run is the main part of a wider European jaunt, which kicks off with two dates at London's O2 Arena on May 27 and 28.

There will also be dates in Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and Leeds.

The group commented: "As far as we’re concerned, [McVie] never really left. We are overjoyed to have Christine back on stage with us."

Tickets for the dates will go on sale from November 14. The full schedule is as follows:

• May 27 - The O2, London
• May 28 - The O2, London
• June 1 - Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam
• June 4 - Lanxess Arena, Cologne
• June 6 - Sportspaleis, Antwerp
• June 8 - Genting Arena, Birmingham
• June 12 - Manchester Arena, Manchester
• June 16 - SSE Hydro, Glasgow
• June 20 - 3Arena, Dublin
• June 30 - First Direct Arena, Leeds
