Oritsé Williams of JLS fame: 'Zayn Malik never spoke to me about quitting 1D'

Earlier this week, former JLS star Oritsé Williams was quoted by The Mirror newspaper as admitting that Zayn Malik spoke to him about wanting to quit One Direction back in 2014.

In the news story, Williams had supposedly explained that he knew the 'Little Things' heartthrob was unhappy with his role in the band and the full original quote is as follows:

"Zayn spoke to me when we were together in Vegas last year. Niall did too. Zayn was talking to me in confidence. I told him he had a great run and to enjoy it. They are very, very blessed guys. It’s a very special thing and not a lot of artists show gratitude for that. But I told him to be himself and to keep going."

Last night, Williams took to his official Twitter page to clarify the remarks and what was printed, telling fans that he had never spoken with Malik about his desire to leave the boyband: "I appear to have been misquoted in today’s press, @zaynmalik had never spoken to me about leaving the band."
