Zayn Malik slams fake meet and greet event: 'The people doing this should get a life'

Former One Direction sensation Zayn Malik has taken to his official Twitter page to tell his fans that a supposed meet and greet event, which he was announced to be present at, is fake.

He shared a link to the event, which is said to be taking place at The Dorchester in London on Saturday, April 25, and told his 14.7 million followers on the social media site that he will not be attending because it's not real:

"That's fake and I have nothing to do with it so don't waste your money guys... Love you all and to the people doing this... Get a life."

JLS singer Oritsé Williams, meanwhile, recently told The Mirror newspaper that Malik spoke with him back in 2014 about wanting to quit One Direction so the news didn't surprise him when it broke last month:

"Zayn spoke to me when we were together in Vegas last year. Niall did too. Zayn was talking to me in confidence. I told him he had a great run and to enjoy it. They are very, very blessed guys. It’s a very special thing and not a lot of artists show gratitude for that. But I told him to be himself and to keep going."
