Lukas Graham set for record breaking fifth week at Number 1

Lukas Graham are seemingly unstoppable - the Danish band look poised for another week at the top of the Official Singles Chart.

If 7 Years can hold onto the Number 1 position by Friday, it will log a fifth week at the helm, becoming the longest reigning consecutive chart topper since Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars logged six recurrent weeks starting from December 2014 through January 2015 with Uptown Funk.

Justin Bieber managed five weeks at Number 1 over last November and December, but both Sorry and Love Yourself accounted for that spell. At Number 2 today is Mike Posner, whose track I Took A Pill In Ibiza climbs one place, while Rihanna and Drake’s Work slips from 2 to 3, Zara Larsson’s Lush Life stays put at 4 and Jonas Blue’s Fast Car holds at 5.

Zara Larsson’s second appearance in this week’s Top 10 comes in the form of her collaboration with Tinie Tempah. Girls Like jumps 7 spots to Number 8, potentially securing Tinie his 15th Top 10 smash and seventh as a lead artist.

Closing out this week’s Top 10 is Major Lazer’s Light It Up. Following the premiere of the official video for the track last week, the song is on course to hit a new peak at Number 10.

Four other tracks skyrocketing to their highest positions so far are Twenty One Pilots’ Stressed Out (15), Fifth Harmony’s Work From Home (16), Alan Walker’s Faded (24) and Sia’s Cheap Thrills (26).

Rounding out today’s Chart Update is Jess Glynne. Her new single Ain’t Got Far To Go is looking good to crack this week’s Top 40, currently at 39.
