In just two days the EMAs will be descending upon Spain’s capital, Madrid, and looks as though the princesses of pop will dominate it.

Both Lady Gaga and the newly married Katy Perry are leading the nominations with five apiece in a different categories ranging from Best Song to Best Video, Best Pop Act and Best Female Act.

In addition to this already impressive list of nominations, the ‘Bad Romance’ singer is also up for Best Live Act whilst her fellow competitor, Perry, is in the running for Best World Stage Performance.

MTV’s prestigious awards ceremony is set to take place on Sunday, November 7 and will showcase a wealth of star studded acts including Linkin Park, Kings of Leon and Ke$ha.

The event will be hosted by both Desperate Housewives’ actress Eva Longoria and, for the first time, digitally by teen sensation Justin Bieber.
