NYU has officially appointed music producer and rapper Swizz Beatz as its very first producer-in-residence.

The Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music at the Tisch School of the Arts will see Beatz give lectures, critiques and one-on-one sessions to its talented student body during this academic year.

Beatz, real name Kasseem Dean, has a phenomenal production discography and has worked huge names such as Snoop Dogg, Jay Z and Alicia Keys, to whom he is now married.

Beatz and Keys welcomed the birth of their first child together, a son named Egypt Daoud Dean, on October 14 after just a few months of marriage.
