A former X Factor hopeful has tricked One Direction fans into thinking Harry Styles has cut off most of his hair.

The singer recently confirmed that he chopped off some of his locks for charity Little Princess Trust.

However, X Factor 2015 reject Ellis Lacy decided to take things one further by creating a hoax picture.

He Faceswapped Styles' features on his own head, creating a lifelike image of what the singer might look like with a different haircut.

It caused a Twitter stir over the weekend, with one user writing: "I think I'm the only one that likes Harry Styles new hair."

Another user said: "After thinking Harry styles looked beaut with his new hair style it turns out it's not him it was just a really good face swap."

The Little Princess Trust meanwhile creates wigs for children suffering with hair loss.
