Simon Cowell praises 'Glee' for changing music's rules

Simon Cowell has spoken out about the hit U.S show 'Glee' and praised it for what it's done for music in the current industry.

Many figures in the industry, musicians or otherwise, have been quick to condemn the show for exploiting some of the world's best songs, but music mogul Cowell thinks it's been nothing but a blessing and helps support the ethos of his own talent contest 'X Factor':

"It kind of goes against record company thinking… because they like to think in terms of everything's gotta be perfection. But Glee changed the rules and that's part of the reason we are making this show. To prove that actually you shouldn't have rules for talent…It should be, if you're talented or if you're different, you should have a chance to succeed along with anyone else."

Star of 'Glee', Lea Michele, also took ten minutes out of her filming schedule to answer fan questions and revealed that her favourite Adele song is 'Hometown Glory', that she "landed the role in Spring Awakening singing a broadway song and a song by Jessica Simpson" and she's just finished shooting her first feature film called 'New Year's Eve'.
