Blue suffered a "complete burnout"

Blue, who are currently in Germany ahead of this weekend's Eurovision song contest, have opened up about their initial split and blamed it on not being managed properly.

Duncan James told Alan Titchmarsh that the group had "a complete burnout", which left them with no choice but to disband:

"We just had a complete burnout as a group and I think if we were managed properly we would probably still be together but that's when the cracks started to happen and we all ended up going our separate ways."

The 'One Love' hitmakers, who are representing the UK at the infamous contest on May 14, didn't anticipate the pressure of the workload when they first started out and couldn't get used to having such hectic lifestyles:

"I think at the time, we started in 2000 and it literally catapulted us, not just in the U.K., we were all over the world, a big international act selling like 14 million albums - but in order to sell those you've got to really promote hard. You're on a flight every day."
