Rod Stewart announces Caesar's Palace residency

Rod Stewart will begin a two-year residency in Las Vegas this coming August, he confirmed to Billboard.biz.

On August 24, he is due to take the stage at Las Vegas' Colosseum at Caesars Palace for an extensive run of shows that will be made up of "90 percent songs that people know". He explained that it will be a fantastic live experience:

"It's a rock'n'roll show," he confirmed. "We'll try to give the people what they want, which are the songs that made me famous, plus a few surprises. There won't be any magicians or midgets, just a good rock show."

The 66-year-old rocker also revealed that three of his most popular tracks have definitely made the setlist, including 'Maggie May', 'The First Cut Is the Deepest' and 'You're in My Heart'.
