Chase & Status team up with Tinie

Chase & Status have just returned from New York City, where they've been filming a music video with Tinie Tempah, in time for the UK's festival season.

The drum and bass duo teamed up with the 'Pass Out' hitmaker after touring together last year and explained the collaboration to BBC's Newsbeat:

"We wrote the beat and were touring all year with Tinie - it just became a situation of 'do you want to do a tune?'"

"He came to the studio, he liked the beat, he had a glass of peppermint tea, his drink of choice in the studio, and yeah - the tune was done."

They spent time in various locations around Manhattan where they recorded scenes for the video, which is for a track called 'Hitz', and added:

"We went to Flatbush in New York which is a sort of Jamaican part of town and got into an old recording studio with Tinie there."

"We had a great day shooting all kinds of scenes, then we got in an old car and drove around the Bronx. And yeah we squeezed it into one day, we ended up in a club with a sort of house party club scene."

Watch the video for 'Hitz', which will be released on July 17, below:
