Mandy Moore hands out mosquito nets in Cameroon

Actress and singer Mandy Moore is handing out mosquito nets to help combat malaria in Africa.

The pop star flew to Cameroon last week with representatives from global health organisation Population Services International (PSI), for which she acts as an ambassador, as well as the U.N. Foundation's 'Nothing But Nets' campaign.

Moore has been hand-delivering the nets to residents in the region, where malaria is the number one cause of death among children under the age of five.

She said, "I'm meeting the people who need these nets to stay safe from malaria - from two year olds to the Prime Minister. I'm proud to be a part of this historic effort that will save thousands of lives here in Cameroon, and grateful for the help of so many American supporters who are donating to make this possible."
