Amy Winehouse's father Mitch has said his plans to launch a foundation in his daughter's name have been delayed.

The name 'The Amy Winehouse Foundation' has been registered by someone else.

"Somebody else pinched it off of us before we could get it registered," Mr Winehouse said in an interview with BBC Radio 1 Newsbeat.

"All these donations which are coming in - we don't know what to do with them at the moment."

Mitch Winehouse explained that he has having to "hold off" on his plans "for the time being".

But he insisted that the foundation will still happen: "The plan is to help all children - not just rehabilitation, not just substance abuse. It's to help all children in need."

Amy's father had announced his plans to set up a foundation in his daughter's name at the singer's funeral in London on July 27.

"If you cannot afford a private rehabilitation clinic, there is a two-year waiting list for help," he said at the time.

He added that the 27-year-old had "conquered" her drug addiction before her death but had been "trying hard to deal with her drinking".

He spoke outside the Home Office in central London yesterday (August 18) where he met with government officials. He urged them to "reallocate" funding for young people dealing with addiction.

Amy Winehouse was found dead at her home in north London on July 24. An investigation into the cause of  her death is still ongoing, with more results expected to come in October.
