Sting to be honoured by former U.S President Bill Clinton

Iconic musician Sting is to be honoured by former U.S President Bill Clinton later this month for his continued philanthropic efforts.

The 'Message In A Bottle' superstar will be recognised along with his wife Trudie Styler for their joint project, the Rainforest Foundation Fund. They will receive a special prize at the annual Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) on September 11 in New York City, at which Sting will also perform.

Of the CGI, Bill Clinton said:

"Since we began in 2005, Cgi members have made great progress in addressing critical global issues by making more than 2,000 commitments through Cgi that have and will improve the lives of more than 300 million people in more than 180 countries. As many of these commitments come to fruition, I am proud that we will be showcasing the tangible impact they have made."
