Actress and singer Hilary Duff has spoken publicly about her pregnancy and gave Ellen DeGeneres a shock by announcing the sex of her first baby on the show. 

She admitted that although she hasn't suffered any morning sickness or unusual cravings, there is one side effect that's plaguing her:

"It’s kind of like a little alien has taken over your body. You just don’t quite feel normal. But it’s cool. It’s been good. I'm having crazy dreams, really crazy dreams!"

24-year-old Duff also revealed how she told her husband, Mike Comrie, the exciting news:

"So my husband makes this joke that I tell him I think I'm pregnant like 12 times a year, ever since we got married. When it actually happened, he was in the shower and I ran in and he's like in the shower and I just hold up the test and I'm like 'oh my god!' and he's like 'ahhh!'"

"He gets out - he's like soaking wet - we were like a mess and we started crying and it as really exciting."
