Welsh classical star Katherine Jenkins has been announced as of one of the contestants on this year's Dancing With The Stars.

The US based reality show will see Jenkins take to the dancefloor only months after splitting from long-term fiancee Gethin Jones.

She will be joined by the likes of soul star Gladys Knight and actor Jack Wagner.

As previously reported, Jenkins had last month opened up on her split with Gethin Jones, thanking fans of their support as she toured the country.

She added that she had been the "happiest she had been in a long time" when up on stage performing to her fans.
