The first acts have been confirmed for this year's Reading and Leeds Festival. 

Earlier this evening, the initial list of main performers for the popular summer music event was unveiled and saw the likes of The Cure, Foo Fighters, and Kasabian announced as the 2012 headliners. 

Other bands that will treat festival goers to live sets include 'Misery Business' rockers Paramore, Coheed and Cambria, Florence + The Machine, You Me At Six, All Time Low, 'Broken Record' hitmaker Katy B, Bullet For My Valentine and Kaiser Chiefs.
