Simon Cowell and Lady Gaga lose out to Hitler in poll to find most recognisable faces

Simon Cowell has come second to Adolf Hitler in a poll to find the most recognisable faces in history.

TV channel, Yesterday, initiated the poll to mark the launch of a new series, showing 1000 people pictures of famous faces.

It's reported that 943 people recognised Cowell's face - one fewer than the Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.

Lady Gaga meanwhile was known by 705 people - leaving her trailing behind historical and political figures Henry VIII, Queen Victoria and former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

As previously reported, Simon Cowell recently denounced claims that Britney Spears was "coming undone" whilst recording X Factor USA.
