Rihanna files lawsuit against former accountants

Bajan sensation Rihanna is suing her former accountants in New York, it has been revealed.

Billboard.com reported last night (July 5) that the 'Umbrella' superstar has filed a lawsuit in Manhattan against New York-based Berdon LLP and at the present time the company has "no immediate comment".

The case is based on the fact that Rihanna, real name Robyn Fenty, hired the accountants back in 2005 as a 16-year-old from Barbados launching her career expecting them to provide her with adequate accounting and financial management services.

She alleges that the company failed in its promises and 'engaged in misconduct and malfeasance', which caused her significant losses following her 'Last Girl on Earth' tour in 2009.

The hitmaker currently has 2 singles in the UK Top 40, namely her collaboration with Coldplay on 'Princess of China' (No.9) and her latest offering 'Where Have You Been', which dropped 1 position to No.15 in the midweek update.
