Russell Brand still feels "compassion and warmth" for Katy Perry

Russell Brand has revealed that he still feels a "great of feeling of compassion and warmth" towards his ex-wife Katy Perry.

The pair had their divorce finalised in the past week, despite reaching a settlement back in February.

Speaking on US show Piers Morgan Tonight on Tuesday (July 17), Brand said that the divorce conclusion was an "administrative finality".

However, he admitted that he still harbours a feeling of "great compassion" towards his former wife. When asked how it feels to be a single man again, Brand said:

"I think what happened at the weekend was an administrative finality, so I don't think that it makes very much difference. Of course I still feel a great feeling of compassion and warmth for Katy, but I'm very happy with my life. My life is a simple life...I'm like a farmer whose product is a TV show instead of tomatoes."

As previously reported, Brand was reported to have recently taken a jibe at Perry whilst filming a new chat show.

It is said he quipped that he has had a lot of "arse-ache" from Katy Perry in the last year.
