Amelia Lily has denied any romantic involvement with Harry Styles and Niall Horan after she was linked with the pair last year.

The 17-year-old, who this week unveiled the video for her debut single, 'You Bring Me Joy,' told MTV News that the reports of her dating either of the One Direction stars were wide of the mark:

"I've had no kind of a relationship or dating thing with them and I don’t know how people are getting these stories, but I just find it hilarious.

"For starters, I don’t even really know the One Direction lads, I've only met them a couple of times."

However, the Middlesbrough-born singer, who finished third in the 2011 series of The X-Factor, went on to praise the boyband for their incredible success:

"I think it’s not all about winning. I mean, if you do win it’s brilliant and incredible but I think that everyone is talented to get on to those television shows.

"I think it’s all about progress, positivity and the kind of attitude you have as well.

"If you believe in yourself enough and you work hard enough, then you will get to the top and you’ll have success."
