Little Mix's Jesy Nelson avoided fashion arrest

Little Mix's Jesy Nelson has revealed she was threatened with arrest when the girl band arrived at an Australian airport recently.

Guards at the security gates mistook her embellished handbag for a weapon, and insinuated that the studded accessory could be used against someone on the flight.

Nelson was annoyed at the claim, and told The Mirror:

“I had a clutch bag and it’s got loads of spikes on it and they thought it was a knuckle duster, so they were like: ‘You can’t go through’. Then they said we need to search you and I got hauled away and questioned while the other girls were all boarding the plane.

“I was there for over half an hour and the man was saying to me ‘This could be a weapon’ and I was saying, ‘No, no, it’s my bag’.

She added: “I mean, I just love spikes, I wear them on loads of things. But then he said, 'Well, if it was the real Alexander McQueen you would have got it through, but it’s not'. I got left behind in the name of fashion!”

Band member Perrie Edwards was also held up at the security gate and wasn't too pleased about the fuss.

She explained: “They said if I took my shoes off and I still kept beeping, they were going to have to take my hair all down, which was in a massive bun. I was thinking, heck no, you are not taking my hair out right now!”
