New Yorkers channel Gangnam Style

A music video parodying Psy's 'Gangnam Style' has been made by New Yorkers affected by Hurricane Sandy.

'LIPA Style' reflects the frustration of thousands of New Yorkers who have gone without electricity for weeks after the devastation of Super Storm Sandy along the East Coast in October.

Reuters report states that John "Online" Mingione, a correspondent for a Long Island radio station, created the video after going more than week without power.

After watching the video, Mingione said that people: "are saying this is the first time they've been able to smile in weeks."

The response to the cleanup by the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) has resulted in lawsuits and investigations. The chief operating officer of the state-owned utility also quit under fire for the company's slow response in restoring power.
