Mexican-American singing star Jenni Rivera has died in a plane crash aged 43.

The incident happened in northern Mexico yesterday (December 9), with all seven people on board the Learjet dying.

Her father confirmed the news on Mexican TV, who said that "everyone was lost".

Rivera sold 15 million albums across the world and was nominated for numerous Latin America Grammys.

She also appeared on Mexican reality show La Voz, which is based on the Voice franchise.

Rivera had been performing in Monterrey on Saturday (December 8) and was travelling to Toluca when the tragic incident happened.
